The signs are gorgeous and exactly what we needed in our new home. The signs are printed on a composite material - not painted on wood as I had originally thought. Not really an issue as they are light, easy to hang, and shipped quickly. Just be judicious on where you hang them as the material is a little delicate. I would not recommend putting them within the immediate range of small children but up high on a wall is perfect (at least in our house with 3 giant not-remotely-delicate boys).
